Qualitative indicators of eggs from different types of feeding
HUBKOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis dealt with the influence of rearing forms on selected qualitative characteristics of hen eggs. The observed egg samples were from litter, free-range, organic and home rearing. The parameters evaluated were - shell breakage and cleanliness, height, stability and position of air bubble, white transparency and firmness, yolk post-movement and position, embryo visibility, weight, evidence of cleaning, incidence of flesh spots, yolk and firm white index, Haugh units and shell thickness. The values found were not significantly different and were close to the average values.

KAČÍREK, Pavel
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to monitor and evaluate the growth performance on a family farm in Nový Kostelec. The growth performance evaluation was carried out on a total of 56 Limousin breeding animals. Weighing of each animal was performed at 120, 210 and 365 days of age. When evaluating the growth ability of the bulls, it was found that the highest growth performance of the bulls in the period from birth to 120 days was achieved in 2021, when the average weight of the bulls was 200,36 kg and the average daily gain for the period was 1,286 kg, while the best growth performance in the period from 120 to 210 days was achieved in 2022, when the average weight of the bulls at 210 days was 330,84 kg and the average daily gain since birth was 1,464 kg, in the period from 210 to 365 days the best growth performance of the bulls was achieved in 2022 when the average weight of the bulls was 524,08 kg and the average daily gain for the period was 1,218 kg. The highest average daily gain of bulls since birth was found in 2022 when it was 1,278 kg. In evaluating the growth performance of heifers, it was found that the highest growth performance in the period from birth to 120 days of age was achieved, in 2021, when the average weight was 168,57 kg and the average daily gain for the period was 1,033 kg, while the best growth performance in the period from 120 to 210 days of age was achieved in 2021, when the average weight at 210 days of age was 292 kg and the average daily gain over the period was 1,366 kg, and in the period from 210 days to 365 days of age the best growth performance was found in 2021 when the average weight of the heifers was 420,16 kg and the average daily gain over the period was 0,830 kg. The highest average daily gain from birth for heifers was obtained in 2021 when it reached 1,057 kg.
Breeding of White Cockatoos in the Czech Republic and their Rearing and Breeding Administration
Kašíková, Petra ; Vančata, Václav (advisor) ; Řezníček, Jan (referee)
Background: This thesis deals about breeding and rearing white cockatoo in the Czech Republic. The work was conducted through a questionnaire about terms of compiling breeding pair, breeding and breeding conditions, additional feeding methods and kinds of mixtures for feeding and additional feeding. For the research part was used an electronic questionnaire where was collected 34 answers. This thesis includes research and comparison about rearing of 9 own white cockatoos. Objectives: The aim of this work was to describe breeding of white cockatoo in the Czech Republic to give an idea about this kind of parrots to the breeders of exotic parrots. As the first work about breeding and rearing fledgling based on questionnaires, which is complemented by administrative data on hand-rearing several fledglings of white cockaoo. Methods: Data were collected by using structured questionnaire for breeders of white cockatoo in the Czech Republic. The questionnarie was about breeding and rearing this kind of Cockatoo. For the analysis of the development and weight gain of the fledglings was used an administrative monitoring of own breed of white cockatoo. Results: From the research is clear that the fledglings which were additionaly feeded by mixture NutriBird and Kaytee we now know that fledglings which were...

Professional and lay psychology of education of children in the family
Kučerová, Andrea ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
The thesis aims to find out the general public's views on raising children within the family, and to compare it with selected psychological research. The theoretical part is a review of several studies over recent years dealing with a child's upbringing in a family, selected so as to reflect the views of the general public, specifically parents, and responds to these themes from a professional point of view. The empirical part attempts to explore the values, attitudes, and opinions of parents on key educational situations, using a questionnaire method. The thesis investigates current trends among parents' child-rearing methods within the Czech Republic, and compares them with the current findings of modern psychological research on education in the family.
Comparison of survival, growth rate and overall breeding of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) juveniles in pond and recirculating aquaculture system during winter time.
PECHER, Petr
The study compared survival and growth rate in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) juveniles in pond and recirculation aquaculture system (RAS) during winter time. The juveniles of grass carp were stocked to 5 tanks and three ponds during 2013 and 2014. In the RAS, the fish were fed by dry pellets and rearing was in constant temperature. In the pond, the temperature and feeding were only natural. In the RAS, the survival rate was significantly higher 97.79 % 0.52 % compared to 10.94 % 11.42 % in the pond. At the end of experiment, the weight of fish, Specific growth rate (SGR) and Fulton coefficient (FK) was significantly higher in RAS in comparison with the pond. The results showed that the rearing of grass carp is more effective in RAS in comparison with pond during winter time.
Evaluation of breeding of birds of the order hornbills (Bucerotiformes) in selected zoos in the Czech Republic
ZÁHOROVÁ, Lucie
Hornbills have often been bred in zoos during recent years, not just abroad but also in the Czech Republic. These birds, characterized by long curved bill and casque, play an important ecological role in the wild as "forest farmers". Unfortunately their populations have been decreasing in the wild. Hornbills are facing habitat loss and food decline, they are hunted for their meat and for trade. Also some species are now commonly bred in captivity, the experience with breeding and rearing hornbills is not very extensive. Moreover, their specific nesting biology together with complicated social bonds rank hornbills to species with very low reproductive success. Therefore, appropriate breeding technique based on knowledge of the biology and ecology of the species is essential for successful breeding and rearing. The work effort of all zoos can in this way contribute to protection of the species in the wild. This theme describes conditions and results of hornbill breeding in Liberec zoo, Dvůr Králové zoo and Zlín Lešná zoo. Its goal is to determine the main factors influencing hornbill´s nesting in captivity.

Semi-intensive rearing of young breeding European grayling (Thymallus thymallus L.) using self-seeded insect.
SADLOŇ, Patrik
The aim of the experiment was to test the semi-intensive rearing of grayling (Thymallus thymallus) using technical equipment to lure flying insects. The experimental fish came from two sources and were reared in these localities: The Trout Farm ČRS Kaplice and The Experimental Fish Culture and Experimental Facility (ERPP) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters SBU in Vodňany. The rearing was carried out between the beginning of May and the end of October or half November 2014. Three concrete troughs were used in Kaplice. One for the control group and the other ones with technical elements installed to lure insects: one with a light source pointed to a plastic board placed under the water surface and the second with electric insect traps. In Vodňany, the fish were reared in two nurseries. One was used for the control group and the second was fitted with the combination of underwater light and insect traps. All groups were fed with commercially manufactured pellet feed. The fish were regularly measured (total length, body length, weight) and examined by a veterinarian. During the experiment, better growth in the trough with the lighted board was noticed in the first period of rearing in Kaplice. It was visually confirmed that the fish took the insects in the vicinity of the technical elements in both localities. The course of the experiment was later strongly influenced by the deteriorating health condition of the fish with the subsequent bad intake of feed in both localities especially between June and the end of September. In Kaplice, the inflow water quality became unstable and some predatory fish invaded the rearing trough. This led to high losses of the reared fish in both localities. In spite of some positive findings, the effect of the applied elements on grayling rearing in the selected objects has not been successfully proved.
